Crystal Palace don't give us a problem (methinks) Without that soft penalty against Watford in the play off final they wouldn't be there. Love Bale to bits but, if £87 million is offered I say take it and lets buy into something really huge and I don't mean Rooney. I think it's a great move to buy foreign we've been feeding the useless England squad far too long. Can't wait to see Soldado perform I've got him in my fantasy teams

yeah 100 millions would be the best bet if Bale go because he's world class player but i think we should keep our best players if we want to finish top 4, who knows!!! we could win the title..

A 1-0 win away from home gets the 3 points but, they weren't inspiring. A few good things to cheer about and thank goodness it wasn't a team with more skill and adventure that was the opposition, this jury is still out on the new signings but am optimistic for the immediate future. Come on you Spurs

Spurs agree £93,000,000 sale of Gareth Bale, you could be Wales for that amount. Wonder if Levy's finished buying now

I'm a Falkirk fan, they are in the Championship league now, was called Scottish first division.

I'm a fan because i am from Falkirk & we were brought up with football from a very young age.
I have fond memories of Brockville especially going with my dad to games when we were all season ticket holders, now they have moved to a different stadium ( Falkirk Stadium ) & its just not the same. There is no real passion from the fans, the atmosphere is not what it used be.
I'm not a season ticket holder anymore due to lack of funds..but i go to games when i can.
£19 for a home game is a bit OTT,though it depends on who they playing & can be
as little as £12

I don't think any league in Scotland is better than any in England ...except maybe the one
Bolton is in LOL ( they were just relegated right ? We had them over at Falkirk for a friendly
um season 2012/13 i think...& they were rubbish Haha

My son & ex hubby are Man u fans...

I'm Falkirk..along with my dad & bro

My daughter & her BF are Celtic

A few cousins in England are City fans..

Anyhoo am glad the footie is back ...

Might win some money this season..

Thanks for the post Pam, it's always interesting to see why people are fans of one club or another. My loyalty with Tottenham hotspurs goes back to my maternal Grandfather who supported them for years through thick an thin times. He was a railway porter at St. Pancras station in London and he had concessions for travel to all parts and spent a lot of his time travelling, much to Grandma's chagrin. Spurs were the first English club to win the FA cup and league championship in modern times, 1960/61 season. Grandad, unfortunately, died in the September of 1960, 4 or 5 games into the season and so he never saw them in their glory. Our second son and his family are also supporters of Spurs and see them quite often, in fact they are doing the ground visit on Friday 23rd August for about the 4th 5th time. No 1 son supports Arsenal so you can imagine the banter there. Daughter, for some unknown reason is a Liverpool supporter so not much competition there, bless her. Ley doesn't like football at all but she loves her rugby union, so at least we can watch something together without a fight ensuing

Wonderful wee story there johnny.
Your grandad must have had a brilliant time
following Spurs.:pals:

I recall my grandad on my dads side being a Falkirk
fan too, but i was too little when he passed so don't
remember a whole lot.My other grandad hated football
& no football colors of any kind wree allowed in his house.

Funny how kids want to support their own teams eh...
My sons fiancee & her family are Partick Thistle fans
they reckon when she has her baby,it will be too,eh
NO LOL..The baby will be born in Larbert/Falkirk so
that makes him or her a Falkirk fan, & i told them, they
just laughed

Do you ever manage to get to any games yourself ?

:clpy:

Went to a international friendly just before the World cup. Saw Ghana play an east European side, can't remember which, at the Milton Keynes stadium, very impressive too shame the football didn't do justice the stadium. Getting a bit too old in the tooth now to go the big games as I can't do the walking as well as I wish but have sky sports so don't miss much.
Is your premier league suffering with the loss of Rangers?

awww that's a shame but at least you have sky sports, better view eh 🤣 though its not quite the same as being there.

Rangers are in Scottish league 2 this season, if they get promoted they are up
with us ( Falkirk ) next season.to the Scottish championship league, then if they win that
back up to where they always were...
Personally i thought when they were related initially
it gave other teams more a chance to get promoted
but then again Celtic ran away with the league title
& of course there is the money side too.
Really i don't much care for Rangers..

If you look back at all the SPL winners, its all
Rangers & Celtic right back to the 80's then
Aberdeen & Dundee Utd are there, which is weird
they have no chance now haha.

Might watch the spurs game later if it on sky ?

we won yesterday 3-0 against Livingston...Easy

ps...I know Ley, loves Rugby, Elvis, gardening & PSP
