Reading posts

Post by Sheka ~ Owner on Mon 12 Dec - 12:41

When you go on forums do you read all or most of the posts or do you just go to the same ones every time.Do you ever get bored just posting emoticons or would you rather chat to friends ,

I will admit that I do skip quite a lot of threads and tend just to post on those I prefer.
But what I would say is that we are all different and appreciate that some people do wish to post on such threads. For my part I am happy to see them so do because it all adds to the diversity and therefore the strength of the forum.

It can depend on what forum I am on or how much time I have.

A few months ago I was visiting so many forums that I didn't have time to look at and process all the threads within them. Nowadays I've limited them to a select few.

I'm not a lover of just posting emotions for a post. I do love to add emtions to a post though. :)

Thank you for your replies.I think sometimes we do tend to join so many forum because we luv to see our friends there, but as you say Star it does mean you don't have time to look at all the posts.
I have so many appointments.....mostly doctors ect that is now limiting my forum time ,which i don't like but real life comes first.
I would luv to come to all your forums and posts loads every couple of days but just don't have the time and one handed typing is hard going.

I just go to the sections I'm interested in. I'm on too many forums to read every post on every forum I'm on!

I certainly don't enjoy posting just emoticons. Granted, I sometimes don't have the mental energy to make particularly deep posts, especially if I've had a tiring day at work, but I do prefer to put in at least *some* thought.

I know this isn't right , but I'll admit that I get the 'jest' of the topic I'm interested in, then I only read the posts of those people I know or know of. When I had a previous board, I went to loads of forums and was co-admin. of just about all of them plus I made a lot of banners and skins. Wore me out! Took many years off then came back, but this time, I'm going to take it easier and enjoy this experience. I joined a lot fewer boards and no more doing all the previous things I used to do, either. I just remember that I own my forum, it doesn't own me and now I'm happier.
Smilies? I use them in posts sometimes, but I'd rather use words than a lot of smilies.

I must admit I do love a blether, when I read posts I feel impelled to put in my pennyworth to add to the flow. I love using smilies but to add to what I'm saying and make the post more colourful for folks to read. If I am interested in a certain topic then yes I tend to go there and see how folks are posting and answer myself to keep the topic alive. :lagh:

It really good to see what people really want from a forum. It's great ....imo anyway to see people from different parts of the world that come to our little corner and chat, make friends.
Yes there are a lot of forums and they do take up a lot of time and when you own one and make graphics for it time runs out some days ,after all we all have a "real" life.
Thank you for replying

I tend to go to posts with subjects that interest me. I tend to avoid stuff like religion and politics.
