My cat Shadow has disappeared

Post by Pinky on Mon Jan 02, 2017 3:54 pm

We moved house middle of December.

Before Christmas day Shadow was itching to go out. On Christmas day we allowed her in the garden for a walk around. Her sister Pudding was a bit scared to go out there but summoned up some strength to just go a few feet and then back into the house, then Shadow came back in, I must say 'reluctantly'.

All night she was meowing to go out and in the morning meowing to go out sh I let her. Thought she would only venture into the back garden but alas she was gone.

I miss her.

I am hoping she will return home.

We have tried posting on FB and walked around the area calling and looking for her.

If anybody has any tips or any hope I'd love to hear it.

Pets do get to be part of the family and it must be very worrying for you.
Did you move far ? Cats are very territorial so there may be a chance she might have headed for what she thinks of as home.

That's not a great distance, might be worth asking your old neighbours to keep an eye open for her.

Glad you spoke to the old neighbours, they will keep an eye out for her. In my opinion Star, that is exactly what happened. Happened to me years ago, we moved five miles away and I kept Misty in for two weeks and then let her out, she disappeared and yes she went back home. My neighbour from the old house phoned to say she was feeding Misty and Joe went to get her. When we got her back a friend told us to put butter on her four paws before we let her back out (which was after another two weeks indoors) it worked Star, I don't know why but it worked, she always came back to the new house after that.

I think I will give her another ring today to see if she's seen her. You never know, she may have forgotten.

Strange you mention butter on the paws. My aunt mentinoed that too so it must work. Wish I had done that now.

Thanks Sabbi. Hopefully we will find her.
