Should women be allowed to take paid 'menstrual leave' from work?

Carrie used to have at least 3 days a month off from school..the school was very understanding but only when the doctor had to give them a note saying. She'd be in bed in agony, sleeping and sweaty. Now she's older there's a better choice for her age than there was when she was younger( different types of things they can give her that they couldn't when she was young). If she was like that now she would get the doctor to write out what's wrong and she'd expect to be paid.

If you don't mind a comment from a mere male...
If a woman needs time off for any health reason then of course she should be covered by whatever sick pay scheme the company operates.
In a case of excessive absence it might be reasonable for the company to request the employee take further medical examination to establish the cause.

When I was young I had some pretty bad times, not every month but some had there moments. I always managed school or work but I do appreciate some girls/women have it bad and I think they should have time off, with a Drs certificate of course.
